IS Sheeran Chiropractic Changing? Really?

Written By Sheeran Chiropractic on January 13, 2025

In this post, I will explain that the answer is both yes and no.

Allow me to start with some background. I started Sheeran Chiropractic on August 26, 1991, after working as an associate doctor at another chiropractic office. From the start, I wanted to establish a practice where you would receive high quality chiropractic care in an environment where patients would always be welcomed with a smiling face and be treated with compassion; an office of integrity and honesty where we always had your complete trust and faith.

After 33 years, I am grateful to have been told by hundreds of you that I have accomplished this goal. Thankfully, I have a large practice of patients with whom I have developed relationships and consider my friends. By 2020, I had been a sole practitioner for 29 years. One never knows when a health issue or injury could arise so I thought it would be wise to find a chiropractor to bring in and groom to someday take over when I no longer could continue what I love.

I then was introduced to Dr. Lance Zuidema through a mutual chiropractic friend. The three of us shared many meals together and discussed all aspects of chiropractic including technique, philosophy and the art of the adjustment. Through these meetings it was clear that we shared a passion for chiropractic and life. It didn’t hurt that we both graduated from Michigan State University and Palmer College of Chiropractic. It was clear that I wanted this man to be a part of my practice future.

In January of 2020, I took this opportunity and hired Dr. Lance Zuidema as an associate. I was looking for a doctor with experience, a quality adjuster, and an ethical and honest person, who was also energetic and driven, knowledgeable, professional and a pleasant personality and Dr. Zuidema was, and is, that doctor.

Dr. Zuidema worked in another chiropractic office for 8 years before joining my practice. He instantly fit in and quickly and significantly grew the practice. He has consistently shown that he shares my passion for taking excellent care of our patients.

On April 1, 2022, unbeknownst to almost everyone, I sold the practice to Dr. Zuidema with the intention of continuing to work in this office for years to come.

In these past 3 years with Dr. Zuidema as owner, very few of you have noticed any changes in the manner in which the practice operates. The technological advances, you know, were not my doings of course. I am still an old school doc!

The time has come for Dr. Zuidema to make this practice his own. Thus, the name of this clinic/practice will be changed to Mission Chiropractic & Health. I support the decision and timing to change the name 100%.

Soon you will see many cosmetic changes such as a new sign on the facade of the building and door, an updated website, new business cards and a mission statement which you will soon see on the walls in the office.
